My deepest adorations to our Sadgurudeva Sri Swami OmkaranandaChristmas-Day - OMKARANANDA JAYANTI. This most auspicious day, on which our most adored Swamiji has taken birth on this planet, coincides with the day of Christ's birth, with the Christmas-Day, with a day filled with deep symbolism. Christmas is a turning point, a day of light. The longest night of the year has passed.
Christmas, the day of Christ's birth and OMKARANANDA JAYANTI, is placed in a season where the potential forces of light in the cosmos are the strongest, the light has won a victory over darkness. So OMKARANANDA JAYANTI is such a cosmic turning point towards the light.
Lord Krishna announced in the Bhagavad Gita that in every age, when darkness and ignorance gain the upper hand, as is the case in the Kali-Yuga, the highest Divine Consciousness will manifest again in a human form, so that it may lead humanity out of the darkness into the light. OMKARANANDA JAYANTI is such a cosmic event of immeasurable dimensions, reaching far beyond what the human mind can capture. Since Swamiji's Divine Feet have touched this earth the forces of light are ever increasing.
Phenomena of light announced already at Swamiji's birth his mission as a Jagadguru, as a great bringer of light at a time of great need, when human distress and suffering, born of ignorance, have reached the culmination point, which is also affecting the whole of creation.
Sri Swami Omkarananda is a manifestation of divine compassion and divine grace, of boundless love for all people and beings. His allembracing heart full of love beats without ceasing for the well-being of all. With every breath and heartbeat his whole being pours cascades of light and grace onto all of humanity and the whole immeasurable universe.
The event of OMKARANANDA JAYANTI is reminding us of the ancient mythology when all gods assisted the churning of the milky ocean which was to bring forth the amrita of the boundless Divine bliss. While all the gods were eager to drink the Divine nectar, the amrita, Lord Shiva contented himself with drinking the poison which was simultaneously produced by the churning of the milky ocean.
So Swamiji, too, renounced in an act of boundless compassion all the immeasurable bliss of the heavens until the last soul has reached the highest abode of self-realisation. Like Lord Shiva, Swamiji also renounced the nectar, the amrita, so that he may free all those who follow his footsteps, and even all of humanity, out of the great darkness in which all are held prisoner, leading them into the light and preparing them step by step for the experience of the highest bliss, ananda. In order to reach this goal he has taken endless trials and difficulties upon himself, which he bears with the detachment of an Enlightened One. With his shining example he demonstrates to all of us that in the middle of the wear and tear of daily life we can remain and act in perfect harmony with the Divine.
The secret of the personality and teachings of Swami Omkaranandaji lies in the experience of his unity with the Divine Principle which we love and adore in so many different forms and with so many different names. Swamiji is ONE with the heart of Divine Mother Mary and Jesus Christ, whose birth we are celebrating on the same day as OMKARANANDA JAYANTI.
Swamiji is ONE with Lord Shiva, who renounced the amrita and drank instead the poison which emanated when the milky ocean was churned, and who opened thus - like our much adored Swamiji - the door to the light, to the experience of the divine nectar, the imperishable amrita.
Swamiji is ONE with the supreme Divine Mother, Sri Lalita Mahatri purasundari, being an embodiment of all Her boundless splendour and perfection. Since his birth he is living in the consciousness of the omnipresence, omniscience and omnipotence of the Divine Mother. He lives in an uninterrupted adoration and love of the Divine Mother, experiencing Her infinite love which he pours over all of us. Swamij IS himself the Divine Mother. He is SHE and SHE is HE! Since his birth Swamiji lives in perfect identity with Sri Lalita Mahatripurasundari.
All his experiences are rooted in the one experience of the supreme Divine Mother. In his continuous and unbroken experience of his unity with the Divine Mother he perceives in every face, in every circumstance and in all things always the same Divine Mother. The boundless love emanating from his heart belongs to the Divine Mother, adoring and loving her in all and everything. He tells us YOU ARE THE DIVINE MOTHER, and this is the central experience of his life.
Due to his inner realisations and perfections all the glory of Rajarajeshwari, the Queen of Queens and the supreme Mother of the universe, belongs also to Swamiji. His total rootedness in the advaitic experience is also the key to all his virtues, his excellences and his unsurpassed humility. As he perceives all in the One which is without a second, he desires no honours and no praise, considering himself on the contrary as the servant of all humanity. All people are his blood-relatives, he considers all as his children. He loves each and every one as if it were the only child of his divine heart. He offers blessings to friend and foe.
Swamiji is our mother, father, sister, brother, friend. Always and under all conditions he avails himself to those who need his services and grace. He listens to us like a loving mother. Patiently he bears with us our faint-heartedness and our errors. When seekers in the beginning stage make mistakes he reaches out to them and helps them step by step to overcome the weaknesses. With his warm wisdom full of understanding he guides those who seek refuge with him, opening new perspectives and a new way of looking at things and situations. He reveals and increases the divine spark resident in every heart. He opens the inner eyes of wisdom.
Swamiji has taken a human form so that he may help us to overcome the obstacles on the spiritual path, and to show us the way with his boundless light. At the same time he reveals to us, that he is much more than the most adorable outer form he has assumed as his earthly tenement to fulfil his mission. He resides in the hearts of each of us as the innermost Self. "Day and night I live in your heart. I live so that I may serve you forever", is his Divine promise to us.
The supreme goal of all his endeavours is to open our own inner treasurehouse, so that we may discover the infinitely supreme Sadguru as our own innermost Self, as the source of all beauty, harmony, love, peace, unlimited joy and bliss within ourselves. I thank you, I thank you, I thank you. You are my protector, my only and true eternal friend.
Let all our hearts flower in your boundless light. May OMKARANANDA JAYANTI take place in our own hearts, so that we may know you in your supreme form of light which is shining with a greater brilliance than milliards of suns, and become one with this incomparable infinite Light.
